Terms of Service

Last updated 5 September 2026

These are the terms for using Scholaria — what you’re agreeing to when you create an account, start a trial, or subscribe. Written in plain language on purpose; §6 (billing) and §16 (liability) are the two sections most worth reading carefully.

01Accepting these terms

By creating a Scholaria account you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. These terms, together with our Privacy & Data policy, form the whole agreement between you and us about your use of Scholaria.

02Who we are

Scholaria is operated by SN EDU CONSULTING LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17437034 (“Scholaria”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

03Who can use Scholaria

Scholaria accounts are created and held by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over with legal capacity to enter into this agreement, on behalf of their children aged 7–11 (Years 3–6). Children don’t create their own accounts or provide their own contact details — everything is set up and managed by you, and you remain responsible for your account and everything done under it.

04Your account

  • You must give accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date.
  • You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that happens under your account, including activity by your children or anyone else you allow to use your device.
  • Tell us as soon as possible at the address in §23 if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, so we can help secure it.

05The service

Scholaria provides adaptive Maths and English practice, SATs-format mock papers (currently for Year 6 accounts, reflecting when KS2 SATs are actually sat), and a parent dashboard, available as a free plan and as paid subscriptions, billed monthly or annually, for a single child or for a family of up to three children.

06Subscriptions & billing

In short: a card is required to start a trial, you won’t be charged for 3 months, and you can cancel anytime before then in two clicks with nothing taken.
  • Paid plans start with a 3-month free trial. A payment card is required to begin one.
  • If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your card is automatically charged for the plan you selected, in pounds sterling (GBP), and the subscription renews on that cadence (monthly or annual) until you cancel.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor, subject to Stripe’s own terms. We never see or store your full card number.
  • If a renewal payment fails, we’ll attempt to notify you and may retry the charge; if payment isn’t resolved within a reasonable grace period, we may suspend your access to paid features until it is.
  • We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before any price change takes effect for your subscription, and you can cancel before it applies.
  • Promotional codes are subject to their own individual terms and aren’t transferable between accounts.
  • Prices include VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.

07The free plan

The free plan doesn’t require a card and has no time limit, but is intentionally limited: one practice session per subject (Maths, Reading, and Word Bank) per rolling 7-day period from your child’s last activity, for one child per account. You can upgrade to a paid plan at any time to remove these limits and unlock the parent dashboard.

08Cancelling & refunds

  • You can cancel a paid subscription anytime from your account settings, in two clicks. Cancelling stops future billing; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
  • We don’t offer partial refunds for the unused part of a billing period, except where required by law.
  • Because Scholaria is a digital service that we make available to you immediately (rather than after a 14-day wait), you acknowledge that by starting a paid subscription or trial you may be asking us to begin performance right away, and that your statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 may accordingly not apply once performance has begun — though nothing here removes any right you can’t be required to give up under UK consumer law. In practice, the free trial in §6 means you’re never charged during the standard 14-day cancellation window.
  • Nothing in this section affects your other statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the service isn’t provided with reasonable care and skill.

09Acceptable use

  • One account per family. Please don’t share your login outside your household.
  • Don’t attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, decompile, or bulk-extract Scholaria’s content, software, or systems.
  • Don’t attempt to circumvent the free plan’s limits or any other technical restriction we put in place.
  • Don’t use the service for anything unlawful, or in a way that could harm Scholaria, other users, or third parties.
  • Don’t attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or data that isn’t yours.

10Content & ownership

Scholaria, and all practice questions, explanations, mock papers, software, and other materials we provide, are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your account — whether on the free plan or a paid subscription — gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your own children’s education — please don’t redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publish them elsewhere, including on other tutoring or resource sites. All trademarks, including “Scholaria,” are owned by us; nothing in these terms grants you any right to use our branding.

11Third-party services

Scholaria uses third-party providers to operate the service, including Stripe (payments), Brevo (email), and Railway (hosting), described further in our Privacy & Data policy. We aren’t responsible for the availability or performance of these providers’ own systems, though we choose and monitor them carefully.

12Child safety & parental responsibility

Children never see advertising on Scholaria, and there are no public, social, or chat features for them to interact with. All content is written to be age-appropriate for Years 3–6. As the account holder, you’re responsible for supervising your child’s use of the service on your own devices, and for deciding whether and how it’s used within your household.

13No outcome guarantee

Scholaria’s content is designed to align with the National Curriculum and the real KS2 SATs format, and we take care to keep it accurate and up to date. However, we make no representation or guarantee about specific exam results, grades, or any other outcome — how a child performs depends on many factors beyond the app, including teaching, individual learning needs, and exam-day circumstances. Marketing language such as “SATs-ready” describes our aim for the content, not a promised result.

14Availability & changes to the service

We may add, change, remove, or discontinue features over time, and may need to suspend the service temporarily for maintenance, security, or reasons outside our reasonable control (including failures of third-party providers, internet infrastructure, or events of force majeure). We’ll try to give reasonable notice of any change that materially affects what you’re paying for, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the service.

15Disclaimer of warranties

Scholaria is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties, and representations, whether express or implied, about the service, including any implied warranty of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to a service performed with reasonable care and skill, which nothing in these terms excludes or limits.

16Limitation of liability

In short: we’re liable for direct losses caused by our fault, capped at what you’ve paid us in the past 12 months, but not for indirect losses like lost time or lost opportunity — and nothing here limits liability the law says can’t be limited.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • any breach of the terms implied by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited; or
  • any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to the paragraph above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, savings, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the service, even if we were advised such loss was possible.
  • Our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.
  • We’re not liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including outages or failures of third-party providers named in §11.

17Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against reasonable losses, costs, and expenses we incur as a direct result of your material breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the service — for example, sharing your account outside your household in breach of §9 in a way that causes us loss. This doesn’t apply to the extent any loss is caused by our own breach of these terms or negligence.

18Ending your account

You can ask us to close your account and delete your data at any time by contacting us at the address in §23; §8 explains how billing is affected if you have an active subscription. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms — for example, fraud, non-payment, or misuse of the service — and will give you notice where reasonably possible before doing so, except where immediate action is needed to protect the service or other users.

19Complaints & disputes

If something’s gone wrong, please contact us first at the address in §23 — most issues can be resolved directly and quickly. This doesn’t affect your right to bring a claim in the courts as described in §20, or, for data protection matters, to complain to the ICO as described in our Privacy & Data policy.

20Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in the part of the UK where you live.

21General

  • Severability — if any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • No waiver — if we don’t enforce a term on one occasion, that doesn’t stop us enforcing it later.
  • Assignment — you may not transfer your account or rights under these terms to anyone else. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business, in which case we’ll notify account holders.
  • Entire agreement — these terms, together with our Privacy & Data policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about your use of Scholaria, and replace any earlier agreement on the same subject.

22Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect a new feature or a change in the law. If we make a material change, we’ll give you reasonable notice by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Scholaria after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you don’t agree, you can cancel your account as described in §18.
